Well, hey there...

I’m Britt. Come on in.

I’m the hands, heart, and usually the mess behind Britt Create Stuff. Around here, there’s almost always paper scattered across the table, scraps I swear I’m going to use someday, and at least one project that started with, “I wonder if I could...”

What began as my own love for creating has grown into this little corner where I get to share my junk journals, printables, tutorials, and all the ideas that tumble out somewhere along the way. I believe beautiful things don’t have to start with perfect supplies, and sometimes the best part of creating is figuring it out as you go.

So whether you came looking for a printable, stumbled across one of my tutorials, or just needed a little inspiration to use the things you’ve been saving, I’m mighty glad you found your way here.

Things you should know about me

Blue Will Always Win

Ask me to pick a color and nine times out of ten, I’m choosing some shade of blue. It’s been my favorite for as long as I can remember, so naturally it found its way right into Britt Create Stuff too.

My House Comes With Fur

Life around here includes plenty of four-legged company. Between my cats and Ruthie, my beagle, there’s usually somebody nearby supervising whatever I’m doing... or getting into something they probably shouldn’t.

I’m a Tennessee Girl

Home for me, is and always will be, East Tennessee. That Southern way of life, the scenery, and all of the beautiful critters. Whether its front porch sitting or the craft room, there’s always room to pull up a chair and enjoy the view.

I’ve Got a Thing for Butterflies

I’ve always loved butterflies, but monarchs have a special place in my heart. You’ll spot them tucked into my projects, my branding, and all sorts of little corners of Britt Create Stuff. There’s just something about those beautiful orange-and-black wings that I never get tired of.

From Crayon to Britt Create Stuff

I’ve been drawing and creating for as long as I can remember. Give little Britt a crayon and a pair of scissors and I was happy. I still have sketchbooks and binders full of old drawings and doodles to prove it!

In 2019, I got my very first iPad Pro and started teaching myself digital art and hand lettering. At the time, I was creating things I could print and use in my Bible journaling, so I guess you could say that’s where my journaling journey really began. Then, later that year, I was scrolling through Pinterest looking for art inspiration for a particular verse in Psalms when I stumbled across this beautiful handmade book. Of course, I clicked on it... and suddenly my screen was filled with junk journals, handmade books, pockets, tags, old papers, and all kinds of beautiful things I didn’t even know existed.

Down the rabbit hole I went, and I haven’t come out since.

The very first junk journal I made was a family recipe journal, and I still use it to keep the recipes we love along with favorites from family and friends. From there, I just kept creating. Eventually I started designing my own papers because sometimes I knew exactly what I wanted for a project and simply couldn’t find it anywhere.

One thing slowly grew into another, and somewhere along the way, all that drawing, designing, cutting, gluing, experimenting, and creating became Britt Create Stuff.

And now look, a full website, a shop filled with things I’ve created, a wonderful crafty community, and an even fuller heart. I’m awfully glad I clicked on that picture.

I'm Really Glad You're Here

What started as me simply loving to create has become so much more because there are people on the other side of this screen creating right along with me.

Whether you’ve been here for years or you just found Britt Create Stuff today, I hope this is a place where you feel welcome to try something new, make a mess, ask questions, share what you’ve made, and enjoy creating without worrying about everything being perfect.

There’s room here for the beginners, the seasoned makers, the paper hoarders, the “I’m saving that because I might use it someday” people, and everybody in between. Trust me, you’re in good company.

Thank you for being here, for supporting the things I create, and for letting a little piece of my worktable find its way to yours.

Now grab your scissors and glue. We’ve got stuff to make.
